Ingredients
- 1 cup sushi rice
- 3 tbsp Obento rice wine vinegar
- 2 tbsp caster sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- cucumber (cut into strips)
- Obento Yaki Nori Seaweed
- Obento Sushi Soy Sauce
Method
- Rince sushi rice until water is clear
- Bring to boil rice and 1.5 cups of water, then reduce to simmer for 15 minutes
- Remove from heat and stand covered for 5 minutes
- Combine rice vinegar, caster sugar and salt.
- Place cooked rice in a glass bowl and gradually mix through the vinegar mixture.
- Allow to cool
- Lay the seaweed sheet shiny side down on bamboo mat
- Line a layer of sushi rice (approx. 4-5 cm width)
- Add a layer of cucumber slices, and cover with another layer of rice
- Carefully roll the seaweed sheet over the rice, creating a tube.
- Slice the sushi into pieces with a sharp knife
- Enjoy with soy sauce
