
Ingredients
- 2 to 3 cups chopped banana blossoms
- 1 tbsp garlic, minced
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 2 tbsp cooking oil
- 6 tbsp Obento rice wine vinegar
- 2 tbsp LKK superior light soy sauce
- 2 tbsp Squid brand fish sauce
- 1/4 tsp ground black pepper
- 3/4 cup water
- 1 vegetable broth cube
- 3 pieces long green chili pepper sliced
- Brine: 6 cups of water combined with 5 tbsp salt
Method
- In a bowl with brine, soak the chopped banana blossoms for about 15 minutes. After soaking, squeeze tightly to release the sap from the banana blossoms. Drain the water and set aside.
- In a pan, heat the cooking oil. Saute the garlic and onion. Add the banana blossoms. Cook for 5 minutes.
- Pour-in the water, fish sauce and vegetable broth. Stir and let boil.
- Pour-in the vinegar and soy sauce. Allow to re-boil, cover, and simmer for 10-15 minutes.
- Add the green chili and ground black pepper.Stir and continue to cook for 5 minutes.
- Turn-off the heat and transfer to a serving plate.You may serve it with steamed rice. Share and enjoy!
