Ingredients
- 1 cup of cooked sushi rice
- Sushi seasoning
- Obento Yaki Nori sheets
- Fillings of your choice my favourites are:- cooked crispy chicken tenders- grated carrot- slice cucumberBut tuna with mayo is also delicious!
Method
- Cook your sushi rice according to the packet instructions
- While it's cooking prep or cook your fillings.
- Once the sushi rice has cooked, fan it and stir it to help cool it down while adding your sushi seasoning. Keep stirring until it's cool enough to handle - about 5 minutes.
- Lay a Yaki Nori sheet shiny side down on a clean tea towel and top 4 fifths of it with sushi rice. HINT use wet hands to handle the rice and press it down onto the nori sheet.
- Then add your toppings lengthways across the rice and roll away from you towards the free piece of nori with no rice on it. Use finger dipped in water as the "glue" to sell your roll tightly closed.
- A sharp and wet knife can be used to cut the long roll into smaller pieces. Enjoy with soy sauce or your favourite condiments!
