
Ingredients
- 10 quail eggs
- 2 tbsp cooking oil
- 1/2 onion (chopped)
- 2 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 tbsp chilli paste (adjust to taste)
- 1/2 tbsp tamarind paste (mixed with 1 tbsp water)
- 1/2 tbsp sugar
- 1/2 tbsp fish sauce (instead of salt)
- 1/4 tsp chicken or anchovy stock powder (optional)
Method
- Boil quail eggs in water for 4-5 minutes. Drain, soak in cold water, and peel the shells.
- Heat 2 tbsp oil in a pan over medium heat. Sauté onion and garlic until soft. Add chilli paste and cook until fragrant
- Add tamarind water, sugar, fish sauce, and stock powder. Stir and let it cook for 10 minutes until thickened.
- Add boiled quail eggs and stir to coat. Cook for 2-3 minutes, then serve with rice.
