Ingredients
- 1 Cup Sushi Rice,
- 1 1/2 water
- 3-4 Tbsp Sushi Vinegar,
- 1 packet Obento Yaki Nori for Sushi,
- 150g Smoked Salmon (or protein of choice),
- Kewpie Mayonnaise
- 1 x Avocado (cut into half moons),
- 1 x Cucumber (cut into wide straps),
- 2 tablespoon sesame seeds (toasted).
Method
- Step 1: Cook Sushi rice with absorption method.
- Step 2: Toast sesame seeds in a small dry fry pan until slightly golden, about 2 min on low. Transfer to plate to stop the cooking process
- Step 3: Cut cucumber, Avocado.
- Step 4: Prepare Salmon but separating pre cut Salmon slices.
- Step 5: Place 1 Sushi paper on a chopping board, use scissors to cut half way into the Sushi paper half way down.
- Step 6: On the Bottom Right Half, place half a cup of cooked Sushi rice, spread, top with a sprinkle on sesame seeds and top with a generous drizzle on Kewpie Mayonnaise.
- Step 7: On the Bottom Left Corner, place 2 or 3 slices of cucumber.
- Step 8: Top Left Hand Corner, place 3 pieces on Avocado, top with a drizzle of Kewpie Mayonnaise.
- Step 9: Top Right Hand Corner, place 3 or 4 slices of Smoked Salmon.
- Step 10: Folding. Start by folding the Rice corner onto the cucumber, then flip up onto the Avocado. Finally flip right onto the Salmon. ENJOY.
- Step 11: Using a sharp knife, cut the Sushi Sandwich in half.ENJOY.
