Homemade Birthday Sushi Feast

Method
- Prepare the sushi rice.Cook the sushi rice according to packet instructions. Allow it to cool slightly, then gently fluff with a rice paddle or spoon.
- Prepare the fillings.Slice the salmon, cooked chicken, cucumber, avocado and other desired fillings into long, thin strips so they are ready for rolling.
- Roll the sushi.Place an Obento nori sheet shiny side down on a bamboo mat. Spread a thin layer of rice evenly over the nori, leaving a small border at the top edge. Arrange your chosen fillings across the centre, then roll tightly using the mat to form a log. Seal the edge with a little water if needed.
- Slice and serve.Using a sharp knife, slice each roll into bite-sized pieces. Arrange on a platter and serve immediately for a colourful, fast and party-ready sushi feast.
