Ingredients
- 6 chicken thighs, boneless and skinless
- 1/2 cup Obento Soy Sauce
- 1/4 cup honey
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 2 tablespoons sesame seeds
- 2 green onions, sliced
- 2 cups steamed rice
- 1 head broccoli, cut into florets
Method
- Prepare the Teriyaki Sauce: In a small bowl, mix together soy sauce, honey, and minced garlic. Set aside.
- Cook the Chicken Thighs: Heat vegetable oil in a large pan over medium-high heat. Add chicken thighs and cook for about 5-6 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
- Add the Sauce: Pour the teriyaki sauce over the chicken thighs in the pan, coating them evenly. Continue cooking for another 1-2 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly.
- Steam the Broccoli: While the chicken is cooking, steam the broccoli. Fill a pot with a few inches of water and bring it to a boil. Place a steamer basket in the pot and add the broccoli florets. Cover and steam for about 5-7 minutes, or until tender.
- Steam the Rice: In a separate pot, bring 1 1/2 cups of water to a boil. Add 1 cup of rice, reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 18-20 minutes, or until the rice is tender and the water is absorbed. Remove from heat and let it sit covered for 5 minutes. Fluff with a fork before serving.
- Serve: Place a portion of steamed rice and broccoli on each plate. Top with the teriyaki chicken thighs. Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions. Serve hot and enjoy!
