- Udon Noodles with Japanese MayoServes: 22 tbsp Japanese mayonnaise ( Kewpie)
- 2 servings of udon noodles (fresh or frozen)
- * 1 tsp soy sauce
- * 1 tsp sesame oil* 1 tbsp rice vinegar* 1/2 tsp sugar (optional, for a touch of sweetness)* 1 tbsp toasted sesame seeds (optional)* 1-2 green onions, finely chopped (for garnish)* A pinch of chili flakes (optional, for a bit of heat)
Method
- 2. Cook the Udon Noodles: Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add the udon noodles and cook according to the package instructions (usually 3-4 minutes for fresh noodles or 6-7 minutes for frozen). Drain and rinse with cold water to stop the cooking process.
- 3. Prepare the Sauce: In a small bowl, mix together the Japanese mayonnaise, soy sauce, sesame oil, rice vinegar, and sugar (if using). Stir until smooth.
- 4. Toss the Noodles: In a large bowl, combine the cooked udon noodles with the mayo sauce. Toss until the noodles are evenly coated.
- 5. Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds, green onions, and chili flakes (if using). Serve immediately, or chill for a refreshing cold noodle dish.
