
Ingredients
- 2 cans of Valcom Bamboo shoots slices
- 2 tbsp cooking oil (peanut oil preferred)
- 3 cloves garlic, minced1 small onion, thinly sliced
- 1 tsp turmeric powder1 tbsp fish sauce ½ tsp salt
- 1 tsp dried shrimp powder1 tsp fish paste/ shrimp paste ( Nga-pi)
- fresh red chills (cut into small pieces)
Method
- Prepare the bamboo shoots: boil them in water for about 5 minutes to remove bitterness, then drain.
- Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Add minced garlic and onion, and fry until fragrant and lightly golden.
- Add the turmeric powder, fresh chili, and shrimp paste. Stir well, then add the bamboo shoots and mix to coat with the seasoning.
- Pour in the fish sauce and add salt to adjust the flavor. Stir-fry for about 5–7 minutes until the bamboo shoots absorb the flavors.
- Add dried shrimp powder and stir well. (Optional)
- Taste and adjust seasoning if needed. Turn off the heat and serve. Enjoy as a side dish with steamed rice and other Burmese dishes.
