Ingredients
- 2 cups of sushi rice
- 3 cups of water
- 1 cup of sushi rice vinegar
- 4 tablespoons caster suger
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 Carrot
- 1 avocado
- 1 cucumber
- Barbecue chicken
- Tinned tuna
- Obento sushi and sashimi soy sauce
- Pickled ginger
- Wasabi
- Seaweed sheets
- Obento sushi seasoning
Method
- Rinse rice with cold water. Place rice and water in a rice cooker. Once rice is cooked allow to cool. Place rice in a glass bowl. Add Obento sushi seasoning. Add Obento rice vinegar, caster sugar and salt. Mix all ingredients together.
- Finely slice carrot, cucumber and avocado. Then slice chicken.
- Place a sushi mat onto a clean work surface with slats running horizontally. Place seaweed sheets on the mat.
- Use wet hands to spread sushi rice over the seaweed sheet, leaving a 3 cm wide border along the top edge.
- Place vegetables and meat on the rice.
- Pick up the edge of the mat closest to you. Hold filling in place while rolling the mat to enclose. Repeat wish remaining rice and filling.
- Cut sushi into 2 cm slices. Arrange on a platter and serve with Obento sushi and sashimi soy sauce, pickled ginger and wasabi.
