FAQs
Lunar New Year (or Chinese New Year) is an important Chinese festival celebrated at the turn of the traditional lunisolar Chinese calendar. The celebrations traditionally run from the first day of the Chinese Lunar Calendar to the 15th day of the first calendar month. As the festival is also celebrated in Korea and other Southeast Asian countries, we are calling it the Lunar New Year festival.
In 2025, the Lunar New Year will be celebrated on January 29th, which is the first day of the Lunar calendar. According to Chinese astrology, each year is associated with an animal sign from a 12-year Chinese Zodiac cycle. The year 2025 will be represented by the Snake, which occupies the sixth position in the 12-year cycle. Those who are born in the year of the Snake are believed to be more mysterious, easy-going, goal-oriented, adaptable and calm.
