Ingredients
- 1 T cooking sake
- 2 T soy sauce
- 1/3 tsp chicken powder or msg
- 1-2 garlic cloves
- 2 T grated ginger (more if you wish)
- 1T Mirin
- Lemon or lime wedge to serve
- Japanese mayonnaise to serve
- Siracha chilli sauce to serve
- Potato starch to coat chicken
- 3C Vegetable oil
Method
- Cut chicken thighs into bite sized chunks.
- Marinade the chicken thigh with cooking sake, soy sauce, mirin, grated ginger, garlic and chicken powder or msg. Let marinade for 10 minutes.
- Squeeze the chicken before coating with starch, removing any excess marinade will ensure the exterior will have a nice fry texture.
- Heat oil in a pan (no need to use too much oil) as long as chicken is covered. Start frying the chicken, it should be golden brown when cooked.
- Serve with Japanese mayonnaise and siracha alongside a lemon or lime wedge. Enjoy!
