Ingredients
- Karakuchi (Garlic Soy Sauce):
- 1/2 cup LKK Premium Soy Sauce
- 2 tablespoon mince garlic
- 1/4 teaspoon Ground Black Pepper
- Cornstarch slurry (1 tsp cornstarch + 1/4 cup water)
- For the Pepper Lunch Beef:
- 225g Sliced Beef Roll
- 2 cups Cooked Rice
- 2 tablespoon Butter
- 1/2 tsp Ground Black Pepper
- 1 Spring Onion, sliced thinly
- 1/4 cup Mozarella Cheese (optional)
- Kimchi and Seaweed Snack, to serve (optional)
Method
- Today we're making a dupe recipe of the Beef Pepper Rice from the Japanese fast food chain, Pepper Lunch. It's all about the sauces and they are mindblowingly simple to make.
- Making the Karakuchi (Garlic Soy Sauce);
- In a small pan, put in the soy sauce and add the garlic. Heat up the soy until boil and add ground black pepper. Add the cornstarch slurry to thicken the sauce. Set aside.
- Making the Rice:
- Heat up your pan over high heat then add 1 tbsp of oil.
- Place the cooked rice in the middle of the pan and the sliced beef along side of the pan or surrounding the rice.
- Add butter and enough sauce on top of the rice and mix everything together until combined.
- Once all the sauce and rice are well mixed, add the cheese and spring onion on top, put the lid on to melt the cheese or if you feel a bit fancy, can use blowtorch to melt the cheese. Leave the rice to cook on the pan, until they form beautiful crust on the bottom. Eat the rice beef warm or make a 'sushi' by putting the beef rice and kimchi into the seaweed snack.
