
Ingredients
- Main Ingredients: • 500g boneless chicken thigh, cut into bite-sized pieces • 2 stalks green onion, chopped • 1 tbsp sesame oil
- Seasoning & Sauce: • ¼ cup cooking sake • 2 tbsp soy sauce • 1 tbsp mirin (optional, for sweetness) • 1 tsp sugar (optional) • 1 clove garlic, minced • 1 tsp grated ginger • ¼ cup water or dashi stock
Method
- 1. Prepare the Ingredients: • Cut the chicken into bite-sized pieces. • Chop green onions into 2-inch pieces. • Mince garlic and grate ginger
- 2. Sauté the Chicken: • Heat sesame oil in a pan over medium heat. • Add the chicken and cook until lightly browned.
- 3. Add Seasoning & Simmer: • Pour in cooking sake, soy sauce, and mirin. • Add water (or dashi stock), garlic, and ginger. • Stir well and bring to a simmer.
- 4 Cook Until Tender: • Cover the pan and let it simmer for about 10–15 minutes, stirring occasionally. • Add green onions in the last 3–5 minutes to retain their freshness
- 5. Serve & Enjoy: • Transfer the chicken and sauce to a serving dish. • Serve hot with steamed rice.
