Ingredients
- 1 tbsp Rice wine vinegar
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp Brown sugar
- 2 tsp sesame seeds
- 500g pork mince
- 1 Clove crushed garlic
- 2 tbsp grated ginger
- 1 cup shredded cabbage, plus more to serve
- 3 spring onions chopped
- 1 egg
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp corn flour
- 1.5 tbsp water
- Wonton or gyoza wrappers
- Grated carrot to serve
Method
- Mix together the ingredients for the dumpling sauce. Using the top 5 listed ingredients above.
- To make the filling, add the ground pork mince, garlic, ginger, cabbage, spring onions, egg, salt, pepper, sesame oil, and soy sauce to a bowl and mix. In a separate small bowl, mix the cornstarch with 2 Tbsp water and then pour it into the meat and mix again.
- Place 1 Tbsp filling in the middle of each dumpling skin.
- Preheat a large pan over medium heat and add 1 Tbsp oil (per batch).Working in batches, place the dumplings meat side down on the pan, press down with a spatula to flatten the meat and cook 2-3 mins per side until golden brown and crisp.Repeat, adding oil to the pan before each batch.
- Serve dumplings with shredded cabbage, carrot and dumpling sauce drizzled on top.Eat the smash dumplings like a taco and enjoy.
