Ingredients
- 1 cup of cooked Sushi rice
- Rice Vinegar
- White Sugar
- 2-4 Nori Sheets
- Sushi fillings of choice, we love:- tuna mixed with mayo- grated carrot- sliced cucumber
Method
- Cook the sushi rice according to the packet instructions.
- While it's cooking, slice and prep your fillings. We grate carrot, slice cucumber length ways and mix a small can of tuna with mayo.
- Once the rice has cooked, stir through the rice vinegar and white sugar to taste and stir the rice to help it cool and make it nice and shiny.
- Wait about 5 minutes for the rice to be cool enough to handle, or pop it in the fridge to speed it up.
- Then build your sushi rolls, spreading the cooked and seasoned rice over 4 fifths of the nori sheet and adding your fillings. Then roll up the nori sheet, using water to stick the free piece down to form a tight roll.
- Slice into rounds using a sharp, wet knife and enjoy with soy sauce.
