Ingredients
- 550g of sushi rice
- 550ml of water
- 1/3 cup of Obento sushi seasoning
- Obento yaki nori for sushi
- Your preference of fillings, e.g. chicken, carrot, tuna
Method
- Rinse and drain the rice, let it sit in a rice cooker with the water for 30m and then turn the rice cooker on. Combine the cooked rice with the sushi seasoning and let it cool.
- Prepare your fillings, e.g. shallow fry your chicken, thinly cut the carrot.
- Lay the yaki nori on a sushi mat. Fill up a bowl with water and dip both of your hands into it, this is to prevent the rice from sticking to you.
- Arrange the rice leaving a 2cm gap on one edge of the yaki nori, then lay your toppings on the opposite side of the yaki nori to the gap. Firmly roll up your sushi using the sushi mat and cut the two edges off and slice in half sideways. There, sushi already!
