Ingredients
- 300 gm Lite firm tofu
- 1/2 cup flour (tofu coating)
- 1 tsp garlic powder (tofu coating),
- 1 tsp garlic powder (tofu coating)
- Pickled ginger (garnish)
- Coriander leaf (garnish)
- Spring onions , sliced. (Garnish)
- Kewpie Wasabi Mayonnaise
- Vegetable oil (to deep fry tofu)
- 2 tbsp Butter (fry 2 omelettes)
- 2 eggs.
- 4 tbsp + 2 tsp Tamari or Soy sauce
- 1 tsp sweet chilli sauce
- 1 tsp maple syrup.
Method
- Cook down soy/tamari, sweet chilli, maple syrup to runny toffee consistency. Put aside.
- Whisk each egg + 1 tsp soy for each omelette.Lightly fry both omelettes in butter & place each on warmed plate.Drizzle sweet soy, (1), onto each omelette, sparingly.
- Cut tofu into batons approx 1.5cm squ. X 4 cm long & lightly squeeze dry.Mix flour, ginger & garlic powders to coat tofu.Deep fry coated tofu to light golden. Drain on paper.Arrange tofu henges onto omelettes.
- Drizzle Kewpie wasabi mayo over tofu henges.Sprinkle with pickled ginger, coriander, & spring onions.Serve.
