Ingredients
- 2 cups wombok (Chinese cabbage), finely shredded
- 1 cup purple cabbage, finely shredded
- 1 medium carrot, grated
- 2 spring onions, finely sliced
- 1/4 cup sesame seeds
- 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 large eggs
- 120ml water
- a bit of Salt and pepper
- Bonito flakes (optional)
- Shredded seaweek (optional but highly recommend)
Method
- Prepare the Batter:In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, eggs, water, and salt & white paper until smooth.
- Add the wombok, cabbage, carrot, spring onion, and half of the sesame seeds to the batter. Mix until the vegetables are well coated.
- Heat a frying pan over medium heat and add a little oil.Spoon a portion of the mixture into the pan, shaping it into a round pancake about 1–2 cm thick. Flatten slightly with a spatula.Cook for 3–4 minutes on one side until golden brown, then carefully flip and cook for another 3–4 minutes.
- Plate and drizzle with okonomiyaki sauce and kewpie.Sprinkle with the shredded seaweed and bonito flake. Enjoy this wholesome dish!
